Dell uses these units for a variety of charitable causes. Proceeds are used to provide job readiness training to individuals in the community.Ģ. Several units may be used for internal printing at Goodwill industries, if need be.ģ. A number of units are sent to Dell ® through a partnership program with Goodwill. Some of the printer donation uses are as follows:ġ. Goodwill refurbishes, then sells the printers at a retail location. And, to minimize transportation, the printers were stored in the Sharp Business Systems warehouse until enough units were accumulated to fill a delivery truck and then shipped to the Goodwill Greenville location. Sharp staff removed the inkjet printers from the classrooms and repackaged the old printers with the boxes from the new units to lessen the environmental impact. The school district and Sharp Business Systems teamed up to donate the used printers to Goodwill Industries. As part of the MPS program, Sharp Business Systems performed a printer fleet refresh which replaced almost 1,000 older inkjet printers. Not only did this MPS program save the school district thousands of dollars, but also helped to give back to the community.
